Featheredge Fence Panels

Featheredge fence panels are one of the most common styles of fence panels used for garden fencing. The panels are clad with feather edge boards which have a wedge profile. These wedge profile boards allow for the boards to be overlapped to give a good strong cladding.

There are generally two types of feather edge panel, a standard and heavy duty variant. The standard panel will often come without framing just having two or three rails supporting the overlapped boards.

The heavy duty feather edge fence panel will often have a full frame around the panel as well as the cross rails for extra strength.

As well as heavy or standard you may well get an option on dipped or tanalised panels. Dipped are merely dunked in a treatment tank whereas tanalised are pressure treated so anti rot treatment is fully impregnated into the timbers, obviously tanalised offer greater durability but will cost slightly more than dipped.
